CURC Activists Protect Door to Door Delivery in Hamilton

Defenders of door to door delivery make a stand.

June 15 was the date that Canada Post was to end home mail delivery on Hamilton Mountain since all the CMB’s were scheduled to be installed  –  but the plan has been delayed by active citizens.

CMB keys would have been distributed to households. Due to both the City of Hamilton’s Court case and strong public opposition to the termination of home mail delivery and citizens blocking the installation of CMBs’ Canada Post’s time line for now has been delayed. In fact, the private contractors employed by Canada Post came by before the picture was taken intending to install the CMB along with others along the street. They took off. No CMBs’ were installed along the street on June 15.

Henry Evans-Tenbrinke who is seated has led the defence. Others pictured with him include Malcolm Buchanan, President of HBO Area Council of CURC and Ken Stone of CURC and members from local CARP organization.
