Seniors Vote meets with political parties
Seniors’ groups endorsing Seniors Vote meet Apr. 20 to hear spokespeople from the feral parties. On April 20, CURC, along with other seniors’ organizations participating in Seniors Vote, met representatives from all political parties. Conservatives were represented by the communications director for Alice Wong, Minister of State for Seniors; NDP by Irene Mathyssen, seniors critic, and John Rafferty, pensions critic; Liberals by John McCallum, seniors critic, and Hedy Fry, health critic; and the Green Party by its leader Elizabeth May.

CURC convention set for June
CURC’s 12th Constitutional Convention will be held June 24-26 at the Unifor Education Centre in Port Elgin ON.

South Central Area Council shows support for teachers

On April 29, members of the Executive of the South Central Area Council of CURC and National President Pat Kerwin walked the picket line with OSSTF District 13 members who are on strike for a decent agreement that improves the education of students.
