Health care was the theme of the Annual General Meeting of the Saskatchewan Union of Retires Federation (SURF), held Oct. 21, 2015. There was a discussion and resolutions on the high cost of long term care and the lack of publicly funded care. SURF will be taking part in the Provincial Election expected in spring of 2016 and the stopping of the privatization of the Crown corporations.

SURF continues to work with the other seniors organizations on the issues affecting retirees , especially the loss of benefits that some retirees have experienced.

SURF will increase the number of pre-retirement courses that it offers.

SURF continues its drive to increase individual memberships in CURC.

The meeting also elected a new executive (see photo).
