Saskatchewan retirees take on Harper

Feb. 2, 2012 – Saskatchewan retirees are not going to take proposed OAS changes quietly. In response to Stephen Harper’s musings about raising the retirement age to 67, the Saskatchewan Seniors’ Mechanism held a press conference on Feb. 1.

Seniors’ Mechanism first vice-president Betty Pickering – who is also president of the Saskatchewan Federation of Union Retirees – told the media that Harper’s proposal will meet strong opposition from Canadian seniors.
