Welcome to the issue of CURC's electronic newsletter. We plan to issue them several times a year to complement our magazine. If your friends would like to receive a copy of the electronic newsletter, they can sign up on the web site to receive one.

CURC has been very active both in building our organization at all levels and in taking on the pension issue across the country. This spring we established the PEI Federation of Union Retirees and revived the New Brunswick one. Area Councils now exist in Montreal, Laurentides, Ottawa, Durham Region, Toronto, Kitchener, London, Hamilton, Niagara, Saskatoon and Calgary. We hope to establish others this year.

We have been active in the pension forums held by governments and in lobbying elected representatives in favour of expanding the CPP and QPP and other pension reforms.

We welcome your comments on the newsletter and other issues.
